Casa Caracol began as a dream in 2006, when a couple set out to build their retirement home on Panama’s Pacific coast. What started as a personal sanctuary—designed for family gatherings during the holidays and as a tranquil escape from the everyday—slowly took shape over several years. With patience and vision, they built the property from the ground up, eventually adding a higher floors and additional units.

It wasn’t until a friend suggested opening the doors to travelers that the idea of a boutique hotel took root. And so, Casa Caracol was born.

Today, Casa Caracol operates as a six-unit boutique hotel nestled between two of Panama’s most sought-after beach destinations: Playa Coronado and Playa Blanca. The property reflects the spirit of its founders—music lovers, travelers, and ocean enthusiasts. Pianos, placed in honor of the original owners’ passion for composing and playing, are part of the experience. Each suite is named with a nautical nod, celebrating both the nearby coastline and the couple’s love for seashells and marine life.

Guests will discover thoughtful details throughout: handcrafted traditional Panamanian woodwork, eclectic décor collected from the owners’ travels abroad, and spaces that blend comfort with character. Several suites feature outdoor showers, all offer equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, and the beach is just steps away.

In September 2025, Casa Caracol entered a new chapter under the management of Dare Hospitality, Inc., continuing its legacy as a unique coastal haven while welcoming the world to share in its story.

Over time, Casa Caracol came to symbolize a safe haven, much like a shell that protects the life within it, offering shelter and serenity to all who step inside.

Just as a seashell gathers the sounds of the sea, Casa Caracol gathers laughter, conversation, and shared memories, carrying them within its walls. Here, the house is more than a home; it is a sanctuary where generations can convene, connect, and enjoy the beauty that is Panama.
